Mexico has deported almost 40 thousand illegals immigrants in 2019


The National Institute of Migration ( INM ) revealed that from January to April of this year 39 thousand 653 migrants have been repatriated to their country, due to having an irregular stay condition.

  • In January they returned to 5 thousand 596 people
  • In February to 5 thousand 47
  • In March at 11 thousand 40
  • In April to 14 thousand 970

During the same period, 52 thousand 205 people were presented to the migration authority ; that is, of the total submitted, 75.9% were returned to their country.

The first migrant caravan that has been registered entered the country on October 13, 2018, and it took 24 days to reach Mexico City ; however, the current ones have not been able to reach the capital of the country , where only two small groups have been received, especially in the first months of the year.

The head of the Ministry of the Interior, Olga Sánchez Cordero, explained that the migratory flow has been mainly from Central America and the Caribbean, although people from Asia and Africa have also arrived, in order to continue on their way to the United States.
