Mexico, favorite destination for Latin American tourists

A survey by Booking.com revealed that the country is the preferred option for 49 percent of Colombian travelers and 48 percent of Argentine tourists, while four out of 10 Brazilians prefer it.

Mexico was placed as the most attractive country to visit by travelers from Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia, due to its people, history, culture, and customs.

This was revealed by a survey by the online travel agency Booking.com, which stated that the country is the preferred option for 49 percent of Colombian travelers and 48 percent of Argentine tourists, while four out of 10 Brazilians. they prefer it over other destinations.

What do Latin Americans take into account? The survey carried out in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico showed that 83 percent of the respondents praised among its most important aspects its people, history, culture and customs; 72 percent its natural diversity; 62 percent its archaeological sites, ancient civilizations and traditions, and 59 percent its gastronomy.

On the other hand, 45 percent of the interviewees chose Mexico as a favorite destination because of its diversity of cultural attractions; 36 percent for its good tourism infrastructure, and 19 percent for its familiarity and cultural proximity.

The survey also showed that Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico have much to learn and discover about their neighboring countries.

In this sense, the Brazilian travelers are the least knows the famous archaeological sites of the Pyramids of Teotihuacan and Chichen Itza, but are most aware of the Blue Casa Museo Frida Kahlo, while Mexicans are the least aware of the attractions Brazil, such as the Sugar Loaf, Christ the Redeemer and the Iguazu Falls.

Among the four countries, Argentines are the ones who know best one of the most emblematic postcards in Brazil, since six out of 10 have already visited Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer.

In contrast, Brazilian tourists are the ones who know most of Bariloche, since more than half of travelers (56 percent) have already visited the destination, compared to 43 percent of Colombians and 36 percent of Mexicans.

In Colombia, San Andres Island is a classic destination among Argentine travelers (56 percent) and Brazilians (47 percent), while the historic center of Cartagena is the best-known attraction among Mexican travelers (46 percent).
