* The purpose is to rescue this “hidden treasure” that is Copala so that more tourists can enjoy it
Copala, Concordia, Sinaloa, January 16, 2019.- In order to rescue the “hidden treasure” represented by the town of Copala, Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel launched along with the municipal president of Concordia, José Felipe Garzón López , the works of a new highway that will connect this picturesque town with the Mazatlán-Durango highway, with which its economy will be reactivated with the attraction of greater tourism.
The state leader arrived for the second time in less than three days to this colonial town, because last Sunday he visited with his wife, Rosy Fuentes de Ordaz, as on this occasion too, he did it to start the construction of a new section carretero, project that had already four years of planning from the past municipal administrations of the Concordia City Council.
Before hundreds of people who received him in the shade of a leafy tree, Governor Ordaz Coppel recognized that Copala was very abandoned, because when the highway was built, it was left out of the way of travelers and tourists, so that its economy began to decay, when closing restaurants, hotels or hostels, and various shops that lived on tourism.
For this reason, he emphasized that with this road tourist will be able to return, to generate employment and income for these families, besides that it will be managed with the cruise ship industry that arrives to Mazatlan, that visits of cruise passengers to Copala will be scheduled so that they know the beauty of this town. “We have to make more tourists come,” he said.
The governor of the state announced that in parallel to the construction of the road, an ambitious program of rehabilitation of the paving of the streets of this community, to offer a new and renewed face to tourists who will soon return.
For her part, Mrs. Rosy Fuentes de Ordaz, said she was very impressed by the beauty of Copala, which she described as a hidden treasure that it is necessary to promote so that tourists know about it.
He hoped that having a direct means of communication with the Mazatlán-Durango highway will surely bring an economic development boom to Copala, which is a tourist attraction that has much to offer.
In turn, the mayor of Concordia, José Felipe Garzón López, acknowledged that this project had not been completed for years, until now with the arrival of Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel, who resumed it to return the development to the mountain range of Concorde.
“I wanted to revive the Sierra de Concordia, and now the sierra is alive, and the people are here thanks to the support of Quirino Ordaz, who will be recognized as the best governor that Sinaloa has ever had,” the mayor said.
On the other hand, he referred to the great support that the state leader has granted from the beginning of his administration to Concordia, because his first two years, 2017 and 2018, he allocated a package of works for 100 million pesos, and now, just a few days of the beginning of January, it has already set aside an additional 5 million for the rehabilitation of the Concordia wastewater treatment plant.
During the event, the director of Promotur, Sergio Romero, also intervened, acknowledging that this work will be the change that Copala needed, since it will allow the economy of the commerce, services and tourism sector to be detonated.
The technical explanation was in charge of the Public Works Secretary, Osbaldo López Angulo, who informed that the length of the road will be 1 thousand 300 meters, with a width of 7 meters, will connect at the height of kilometer 191 of the highway Mazatlán-Durango, and the works will be completed before the rainy season.
