Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Art director Ocean Rodríguez will be one of the main people in charge of making some of the floats for the Mazatlan Carnival 2019 “Equinoccio”.
For this edition of the Carnival, and for the first time, Ocean Rodríguez will be in charge of making eight allegorical cars, among which are the King of Happiness and its entire section, as well as that of the Banda El Recodo in commemoration of its 80th anniversary
In the same way, his designs will be appreciated in the scenographies of the royal coronations and even now he is working on the scenography of the election of queens.
Trust that in the great event there will be a memorable parade for all Buenos Aires and visitors, as the artistic teams, as well as relatives of Rigoberto Lewis, are making their greatest effort.
“For me it represents a lot and it is very important to be part of this Carnival and to return the creations and designs of Rigo Lewis,” he said.
In this regard, he pronounced that for him, ‘Rigo’ Lewis was always a very important influence, due to the visual impact that he contributed in each of his creations, together with the culture, the architectural styles, the significant images and other elements that created great surprise in people.
He also pointed out that, unlike Lewis, he does not perform his work with paper mâché, but rather arming himself with other techniques such as polyurethane molding, resin parts and above all a great illumination of the floats, with which he seeks to create a style that can be imposed in the following editions of the Mazatlan Carnival.
Ocean Rodríguez is originally from Mazatlán, however, his great career has taken him to Mexico City, where he managed to found his own company Artefacto Sets, which specializes in the design, construction, and setting of cinematographic sets.
His career has led him to perform all kinds of sets for commercials, television programs, concerts and videoclips of different personalities, such as Maluma, Nicky Jam, Ricardo Arjona, Carlos Rivera; as well as other well-known television projects of Sony, Shark Tank Mexico, Acapulco Shore of MTv and many other productions.
