1049

Flood waters caused by Pacific tropical depression 19E continue to recede, but thousands of structures – including many homes – remain underwater in Sinaloa –  A state of emergency has been declared in 11 municipalities – including Culiacan. Supplies of food and drinking
water is being sent by helicopter to areas cut off by washed out roads and bridges.
State authorities continue to advise against travel – with flooded roads causing vehicles to stall and leaving people stranded. Four deaths were caused by the storm – three people in Culiacan and one person in Ahome were swept away by floodwaters and drowned. There are no reports of missing people at this hour. The storm also caused flooding in Sonora and
Chihuahua.
