With the goal of strengthening healthy coexistence, prevention, and citizen participation in rural communities, the Municipal Government, in coordination with the Safe Coexistence and Peace Initiatives Committee, held a rural walk in the La Noria district. More than 200 people participated, including students, teachers, parents, and local authorities.
The event was organized by the Mazatlán City Council’s Rural Zone Evaluation and Liaison Office, in collaboration with the Road Safety Education Department of the State Government’s Transportation and Traffic Division. Students from the “Eloísa Aguirre del Valle” Kindergarten, the “Miguel Hidalgo” Elementary School, and the UAS La Noria Extension Preparatory Academic Unit participated, joining the call to promote values, road safety awareness, and safe environments for Mazatlán families.
The event was attended by Judith Martínez Montes, coordinator of the Safe Coexistence and Peace Initiatives Committee; Valeria Guadalupe González Peraza, director of Evaluation and Liaison for the Rural Zone; Mario Salas Rivera, trustee of La Noria; Armando Osuna Rubio, community commissioner; Nayeli Rodríguez, director of the Mazatlán CIJ (Center for Youth Integration); Wendy Isabel Rochín, head of Civil Protection Training; Miriam Leticia Ibarra Zavala, representing the Polytechnic University of Sinaloa; José Luis López García, coordinator of Social Programs and Addictions for Section 39; and Miguel Ángel Luna Osuna, from the Specialized Unit for the Prevention of Family and Gender Violence (UNIPREVIF).
Also participating were members of the Safe Coexistence and Peace Days Committee, members of the National Guard, and teaching staff, who reaffirmed their commitment to work in a coordinated manner on actions that strengthen social peace, prevention, and the well-being of rural communities, in accordance with the policies promoted by the Municipal Government headed by Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez.
