During the fourth quarter of 2025, and with seasonally adjusted figures, the states that registered the highest quarterly growth in economic activity were Nayarit, with 5.7%; Oaxaca and Hidalgo, with 4.8%; Sinaloa, with 4.2%; and Tabasco, with 3.8%.
On an annual basis, Sinaloa, Hidalgo, Nayarit, Mexico City, and Tabasco reported the most significant advances in their economic activity, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
The statistics reveal that Sinaloa and Nayarit’s strength lies in the primary sector, with annual growth rates of 122.1% and 91.5%, respectively, in the fourth quarter.
Conversely, the state of Hidalgo stands out for its growth in the secondary sector, with an annual increase of 19.6%, and to a lesser extent, but with a significant contribution, the tertiary sector, with an annual increase of 2.9%, the fifth highest among the states.
Mexico City and the State of Mexico stand out for their steady progress with quarterly growth of 2.5% and 0.5%, respectively, while annual growth rates of 5.1% and 1.1% are reported.
Among the states experiencing declines are Quintana Roo and Campeche, which led state economic activity during the previous six-year term. By the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, they reported annual declines of -6.1% and -10.6%, respectively, placing them among the lowest performers.
