Mazatlán will experience one of its busiest weekends with the arrival of the Gran Maratón Mazatlán Chevron 2025, taking place from November 28th to 30th, which will bring together more than 6,000 national and international athletes.
The event was presented at a press conference, where state authorities and organizers highlighted the marathon’s importance to the port’s tourism promotion.
Alfonso Reséndiz Memije, representative of the Ministry of Tourism, explained that this sporting event boosts Mazatlán’s visibility abroad. He also noted that it has generated 1,500 direct jobs and that the economic impact will exceed 160 million pesos, solidifying the event as one of the most important in Sinaloa.
For his part, Paul Luke, director of Espectáculos Costa del Pacífico, stated that the main challenge is ensuring that each runner has a memorable experience during their stay in the port. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of continuing to promote the marathon as a family activity that positions Mazatlán as a leading sporting destination.
Dates, times, and activities of the 2025 Mazatlán Chevron Grand Marathon
The official opening ceremony will be on Friday, November 29, at 9:50 a.m. at the Sports Expo located outside Teodoro Mariscal Stadium.
On Saturday, November 30, at 9:00 p.m., a light show open to the public will take place at the same venue. The races will be:
5K and 10K: Saturday, November 29, at 4:00 p.m., on Avenida Leonismo, in front of Teodoro Mariscal Stadium
21K and 42K: Sunday, November 30, at 5:00 a.m., from the same starting point
The Mazatlán Chevron Grand Marathon remains one of the most prestigious sporting events in Mexico, renowned for its organization, scenic route, and family-friendly atmosphere.
