After launching the 2025 Summer Satisfaction Survey, the Tres Islas Hotel Association calls for a united front to improve confidence in Mazatlán.

José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, explained that they were recently convened by the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, and the national president of the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels, Miguel Ángel Fong González, to join forces with self-regulation in order to improve customer satisfaction.

“It’s nothing more than closing ranks, seeking to see how, how to improve, and this opening is very important for us in the sense that it gives a lot of certainty to the sector and, above all, also certainty and confidence to the consumer, which as a tourist destination is a key we always strive for in order to gain consumer trust.”

He gave as an example that since 2011, the Tres Islas Hotel Association, under his direction, has been conducting a study measuring visitor satisfaction rates through surveys administered over three weeks during the summer vacation period.

“Last year, if I recall correctly, we received a rating of 9.1 or 9.2. The surveys are still being conducted, and we will receive a report on the results later. This will allow us to establish a work agenda with the state Tourism Secretariat, the municipality, and service providers, and discuss any areas of opportunity that may arise from this study. We can leverage them and improve for next year. We are always looking for ways to improve.”

According to the leader, during the virtual meeting held last Monday with the heads of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) and Profeco, the hotel industry was informed of some measures to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of tourism services with actions that guarantee tourists’ rights.

“We were indeed summoned to a virtual meeting attended by the Federal Ministry of Tourism, as well as someone from Profeco, and the meeting was actually called by our National President. He called us to gather feedback on how to generate self-regulation, seeking to guarantee services within service providers while also complying with consumer rights,” he emphasized.

He considered the 2025 National Tourism Self-Verification Campaign, carried out by Sectur and Profeco, to be positive as a voluntary, digital mechanism because it will allow providers to evaluate and demonstrate their compliance autonomously and transparently.

“This will help them improve and understand all the details established by the regulations themselves, which are frequently updated, and, well, always looking for ways to be regularized and generate guarantees. For us, the most important thing is customer satisfaction,” he emphasized.

The campaign also aims to support tourism service providers. Therefore, the registration period will be extended until August 30th, allowing more time to facilitate their participation in this self-assessment exercise and allow them to access this recognition of their commitment to tourism.

He applauded the work done with the private sector, seeking to avoid sanctions and suspensions that affect the operation and reputation of destinations, as well as strengthen the quality and professionalism of the sector.
