Luis Miguel cancels concert in Mazatlán due to wave of violence in Sinaloa

In the midst of the wave of violence that has been sweeping Sinaloa for several weeks now, singer Luis Miguel canceled the concert he had scheduled for September 29 in Mazatlán.

The event promoter Zigna Live issued a statement on Thursday, in which it gave details of the process for the refund of the ticket price.

“We inform you that due to the situation of insecurity that prevails in the state, Luis Miguel’s event scheduled for this coming September 29 in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, will be canceled,” the company clarified through a social media post.

Last week, the group Belanova also announced the suspension in Culiacán of one of its performances —on September 20— due to the security issue.

In a statement released on their social media, the group that produced hits like “Rosa pastel,” “Por ti,” and “Me maravilla” said it would announce its new dates in the coming days “as the event can be held safely for everyone.”

A couple of days later, singer Alejandra Guzmán announced that she would postpone her concert scheduled for this Saturday, September 21, at the Centro de Usos Múltiples in Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

In a statement released on social media, it was detailed that the concert was rescheduled for “reasons beyond the artist and the organizers’ control,” without giving further details.
