With an investment of more than 25 million pesos in the replacement of the Delfín collector and the drainage and drinking water networks, the Government of Mazatlán put an end to the problem of wastewater spillage in avenues, streets and Infonavit Alarcón walkways.
Mayor Édgar González Zataráin went to the Topos walkway to supervise the progress of the work, and there he commented that with this a public health problem was ended, which will improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and they will have a more friendly environment.
“The problem of bad odors is over, there were people with skin infections, when we first arrived people had skin infections from so much drainage throughout the sector. A health problem is solved, of comfort, of hygiene in their homes and above all the more friendly environment.”
He assured that they are already finishing the rehabilitation of the drainage in Infonavit Alarcón, after they began in 2023 with the rehabilitation of the Delfín collector, which had an investment of 12 million pesos, and from there they continued with more work in this area.
He detailed that they have already completed the replacement of the drainage and drinking water networks in the León alley, the Óscar Pérez Escobosa, Delfín and Las Garzas avenues, as well as the Perico, Oso, Gorrión, and Guacamaya walkways, and this Tuesday they will begin work on the Gavilán walkway.
González Zataráin said that the work in Infonavit Alarcón will be completed before the end of August and with this they will 100 percent end the drainage problem in this settlement, where collectors and drainage and drinking water lines were replaced.
He said that once they finish the drainage, they will start renovating the public lighting inside the walkways, replacing the sidewalks and the play areas. He added that the problems in Alarcón have worsened because they have been ignored for years.
