The Internal Affairs area of the Mazatlán Public Security Secretariat opened an investigation against 52 members of that corporation of both sexes, accused of stealing 20 thousand pesos and cell phones from employees of a chicken business, who were beaten and two of them sent to jail.
The agents, aboard seven patrol cars, arrived at the Lomas de Ébano neighborhood and under the argument that they were going to arrest one of the delivery men, named Andrés “N”, the young Nancy “N” tried to prevent it, but was beaten, so her relatives who run the business intervened.
Through a video, the family that runs the roast chicken business documented that the police entered the premises, beat the couple and their children, including two minors, seized 20 thousand pesos from the sales and took their cell phones.
The mayor of Mazatlán, Edgar Zatarain, warned that he will not allow this incident to be closed, so he will follow up on the open investigations and apply sanctions to each of the participants, whose responsibility and severity may lead to dismissal.
He announced that he had access to one of the videos that were captured in the Loma de Ébano neighborhood, in whose images it can be seen that police officers entered a chicken business and fought with all the workers.
The mayor said that if it is proven that they stole money and cell phones from the employees of said business, they will be held responsible for another type of crime since this type of abuse that tarnishes the image of the corporation cannot be allowed.
