This figure is 0.22 percent higher compared to the same period in 2022, reported José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, President of the Mazatlán 3 Islands Hotel Association.

MAZATLÁN._ Mazatlán closed at 81.50 percent occupancy during the month of July, with a growth of 0.22 percent compared to the same period in 2022, reported José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the Mazatlán 3 Islands Hotel Association.

According to Manguart Sánchez, the month of July closed strong, which made it possible to overcome the occupation despite having had a slower start to the summer than the previous year.

“For the month of August we have an expectation of 70 percent occupancy thanks to the new connectivity and the Mazatlán-Durango superhighway,” he said.

“Without a doubt Mazatlan is in a good moment and this leads to facing great challenges such as reducing the number of street vendors, creating a destination flight committee, creating a destination congress and convention committee, maintaining the tourist area, improving road flow, control and formalize vacation rentals to generate healthy competition between departments, condominiums and the hotel industry itself”

The hotel manager said that this summer there are 6,500 vacation rental units on the platform, 12,000 hotel rooms and 2,000 vacation rental units informally, adding a total of 20,500 units in inventory for accommodation.

He announced that in the next 2 years there will be 3,000 more vacation rental units, so Mazatlán has great infrastructure challenges such as water, drainage, electricity, roads, which are key to giving certainty to investments without failing to specify that it is opportune and necessary to carry out an analysis of the installed capacity against the demand for these services in order to go hand in hand and not exceed the demand for the installed infrastructure.
