In total, 7 telluric movements were recorded, the highest intensity recorded was 5.2 degrees on the Richter scale.
Just at the stroke of midnight while hundreds of families began to celebrate Mother’s Day, a series of earthquakes began in the Sea of Cortez, off the coast of Ahome, Sinaloa, which managed to be felt in places like Guasave and El Fuerte.
According to the National Seismological and Civil Protection, the first telluric movement was at 00:03 hours and occurred 99 kilometers southeast of Ahome.
An hour later, at 01:05 in the morning, another was recorded 79 kilometers from Ahome, in front of the port of Topolobampo, with an intensity of 5.2 degrees.
Another was at 02:45 a.m. 51 kilometers from the state of Sinaloa and 80 kilometers southeast of Ahome with an intensity of 5.0 degrees.
Subsequently, the concurrency was kept at less than 5 degrees and with a period of time between one hour and 30 minutes.
The last one that was registered was at 3:28 in the morning of this Wednesday, May 10.
During that period of telluric movements Civil Protection issued alerts to be pending in case of reports of damage, although this morning no incidents in northern Sinaloa have been reported.
The Civil Protection Directorate reported this morning that there are no reports of damage.
