Rescue of the Ricardo Flores Magón square in Mazatlán will improve the quality of life of the settlers

The work that will be done through the Urban Improvement Program includes a skatepark; it is contemplated that it will be ready in eight months once started.

Mazatlán, Sin. – The project to rehabilitate the square of Colonia Ricardo Flores Magón, through the Urban Improvement Program and managed by the state governor, Rubén Rocha Moya, was received with great enthusiasm by the residents of the place.

María Inés Pérez Corral, Secretary of Well-being, and Sustainable Development of Sinaloa, led a meeting with the inhabitants of the area on Monday afternoon, to socialize the project that includes a skatepark, spaces for games, communal rooms, bicycle lanes, exercise facilities and trees.

“This project is inclusive for everyone, without discrimination, so that everyone has fun, everyone uses it, that it is a center where they can relax, that they take advantage of it. The Governor and the President of the Republic are always thinking about how to benefit society and this space is a sample of it”, she said.

On behalf of Mayor Edgar González, Fabiola Judith Verde Rosas, director of the Mazatlán Municipal Sports Institute, commented that the work will also help to form a community and improve living conditions.

“We are going to transform the area, we are going to bring sports spaces and recreational areas, today this neighborhood will have a great change,” she said.

“This square is going to be a cool thing for our neighborhood, it’s going to give us a lot, I’m going to feel proud as a Mazatleco,” said Aurelio Arámburo.

Great interest was generated in the construction of the skatepark in the redevelopment of the square, where SEDATU has great experience and even won the 2020 Noldi Schreck award.

The work is projected to be ready in seven to eight months, explained Lucero de la Fuente Maldonado, head of Sedatu’s Inter-Institutional Coordination and Monitoring department, during the informational assembly that was joined by the City Council secretary, Berenice Oleta Benítez.
