CONSELVA will celebrate the International Day of Actions for the Defense of Rivers under the slogan Zero Waste
MAZATLAN. – For the second consecutive year, the CONSELVA, Costas y Comunidades association launched a call called “Picnic on the River”, which consists of meeting as an association and society on the banks of the Presidio River and carrying out activities aimed at raising awareness about caring for water.
The initiative wants to promote reflection and protection on the natural resources of southern Sinaloa.
The event is scheduled this Sunday, March 12, at the Balneario del Río Presidio, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The clear idea is to be able to celebrate the “International Day of Actions for the Defense of Rivers”, under the motto “Zero waste”.
The association will make a transportation available to people that will leave the parking lot of Walmart and Sam’s Club La Marina at 9:00 a.m.
The point of this meeting is not to generate garbage, so each participant must bring their food in containers, and thus avoid the use of disposables to be an example in caring for the environment.
During this recreational activity there will be a talk about the importance of the Presidio River for Sinaloa, and especially in Mazatlán, a river stone painting workshop; there will be music, stories, and poetry; coffee and water.
People who want to attend must bring their food in reusable containers, a water bottle and a reusable thermos, cloth bags to pack food, a cap or hat to protect yourself from the sun, comfortable clothes and shoes, gloves for cleaning and a blanket to the picnic.
