Mazatlán, Sin.- As part of the benefits that the DIF Mazatlán System provides to the general population, there is free medical care for the general population, and those who require this service can go to its offices located on Constitución street in the city center.

Abel Zataráin Lizárraga, deputy director of Social Medicine and Inclusion of DIF Mazatlán said that, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the DIF medical office treats citizens who require medical services, from girls, boys, youth and adults.

The municipal official reported that they do have the medication in stock, they deliver it at no cost to the patients, without forgetting that efforts are also being made for support in terms of ultrasound or x-rays at the “Margarita Maza de Juárez” Municipal Hospital. ”

“Fortunately, we have the opportunity to feel well endowed with the medicines that the community gives us, the medicines that they (the citizens) get in some way, through IMSS, ISSSTE, and Health Centers, and for some reason they no longer use them, the only thing we tell them is to check the expiration date,” he explained.

Zataráin Lizárraga highlighted that the number of patients receiving support per day varies between 8 and 10, and it does not matter if they have IMSS, ISSSTE or some other social health benefit.

The doctor added that in addition to free medical care and medication, citizens can receive the benefits of the Basic Rehabilitation Units, where qualified personnel provide physical therapy to those who require it, for as long as necessary.
