Mazatlán, Sin.- Muros de Agua is the name of the new ecological-tourist center in the Marías Islands and with which it is intended to further detonate tourism in the port of Mazatlán as an additional attraction.
The constitutional president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, reported that the possibility of modern and fast vessels is being explored so that in just two and a half hours the destination can be reached from the port.
“It is very close to Mazatlan, the possibility of modern, fast boats is being explored and it is estimated that in two and a half hours you can reach the Marías Islands, they can go in the morning and can return in the evening,” he reported.
He added that he will appoint a governor, a sailor, who will be in charge of the operation of this entire complex. The name of the center, which will also function as an ecological school, is due to the work of José Revueltas, a Mexican writer who was imprisoned in the old prison located on Isla Madre.
