Sinaloa remains below the national average in crime incidence

Sinaloa has maintained a permanent downward trend for more than two years, in various crimes, assured Renato Ocampo Alcántar, Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System.

This is thanks to the good coordination that is maintained between the public security areas, which today allows Sinaloa to be ranked 26 out of 32 states, according to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) corresponding to the month of July.

The head of the SESESP, stated that “work continues very hard and substantial progress is being made; the crime incidence continues to decrease and that speaks of the good and close coordination that exists between all the agencies that make up the public security system and the work carried out by the head of the State Executive, Quirino Ordaz Coppel ”.

Regarding the results shown on the digital platforms of the National Secretariat, which reveal that the crime of intentional homicide has registered a reduction, compared to the same period of 2019, in the same way in reference to the comparison between June and July of the current year shows a decrease of 21%; and in femicide with the annual comparison ,; nationally there is a rise of 5.6 percent, while in Sinaloa a notorious drop of 42.3% is reflected, which guarantees that our Entity is placed in the last positions of criminal incidence.

He highlighted that the Sinaloa Police are among the ten most reliable in the country, according to a study released by the National Survey of Victimization and Perception of Public Safety (Envipe), a fundamental factor that strengthens the reduction of crime statistics in the 18 localities of the Entity.

“Citizen participation has been essential to achieving these results, so they are asked to continue their collaboration in the preventive schemes implemented by the institutions to keep crime incidence down, strengthening the security of all citizens”, stated the state official.

Ocampo Alcántar said that it continues under the direction of Governor Ordaz Coppel, in reinforcing the operational strategies and the coordination work carried out by the National Guard, the Secretary of the Navy, the State Police and the Municipal Police, hand in hand with the Prosecutor’s Office, this as part of the commitment throughout Sinaloa.
