The lowest temperature recorded in the Mexican territory during this winter has been -16 degrees Celsius (3 degrees Farenheit), in the town of La Rosilla, in the municipality of Guanaceví, state of Durango.

This temperature was experienced at dawn on Sunday Jan. 19, and it is the lowest that has been recorded in the country so far this winter season 2019-2020, reported the National Water Commission (Conagua).

The current climate in Mexico is due to the presence of the cold front 30, which is expected to weaken and acquire warm characteristics over the Gulf of Mexico.

The Metereológico Nacional said that for these days it is expected that the mass of cold air associated with this phenomenon will maintain the cold environment and morning frosts in the north and center of the nation.
