Mexicans win gold, silver, and bronze in robotic tournament in Turkey

Mexican students won the gold, silver and bronze medals at the KSÜ TeknoRob robotic tournament in Turkey, where more than a thousand students from six countries participated with 322 robots.

Veracruz residents Luis Cortés Hernández and Adán de la Cruz Domínguez, from Mexico’s Tecnológico Nacional (TecNM) Poza Rica campus, were awarded the first three places in the mini sumo category, with the Boris X, Boris Jr. and Mini HK robots, as well of third place in autonomous Sumo category with Robot Boris x, pointed out the SEP.

“It was a great challenge to beat the best international competitors. This is how we put into practice the knowledge acquired in our technology, “Cortés Hernández said in a statement.

Adam de la Cruz dedicated the awards to all the students of the TecNM, especially to the robotics club of the Poza Rica campus, as well as “to the thousands of young Mexicans who live, love and are passionate about robotics”.

More than 1,000 students participate

The second KSÜ TeknoRob tournament, organized by the Kahramanmaraş Sütçüimam University, took place on May 4 and 5, with the participation of more than a thousand students from Turkey, Japan, Malaysia, Romania, Tunisia and Mexico, who presented 322 robots

The participating categories were Mini Sumo, with 154 robots; Follower of classic line, in which 40 projects made the tour of the tracks; as well as 80 in the category of Drag Line Follower; 18 proposals of free application and 30 in independent sumo of three kilograms.
