Culiacán, Sinaloa .- A 23 percent reduction in murders, specifically the intentional homicides recorded in the accumulated from January to April of this year, compared to the same period of 2018, said Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel.
Although during the month of April there was an increase in this crime, it has to be considered that it was lower in relation to January, he explained. According to the figures of the state agent, from January to April of this year there were 286 homicides, against 373 of the previous year; and 533 of 2017.
” They were 103 in April 2018 against 80 this year; that is, 29 percent less, and if we compare month to month, for example January 2019 were 81, February 66, March 59, April 80, has even been below the month of January, which is 35 percent more in the comparison of the month, “he explained.

In the case of vehicle theft, also from January to April it was reduced by 18 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
