Enrique Peña Nieto luxury car is sold at auction

A 2006 Audi A8 with level of provision 6, which resists shots of high power weapons, was sold at one million 991 thousand 300 pesos to a businessman from Nuevo Leon.

State of Mexico.-In a price of one million 991 thousand 300 pesos the luxury car of the then President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto , was sold to the entrepreneur of Nuevo Leon, Enrique Herrera, during the auction of the federal government in the facilities of the air base of Santa Lucia.

The vehicle used by the former Mexican president is a 2006 Audi A8 with level 6 armor, which according to specifications, resists high-powered weapon fire; in addition, it was classified as the vehicle of greater security of the flotilla of units that was in charge of the Presidency of the Republic and of the extinct Presidential General Staff.

This car has its history and highlights that it was first used by former President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa and then by Peña Nieto. The unit allegedly transferred heads of state from several countries during the sexennium, when they made official visits to Mexico.

The buyer commented that this vehicle was purchased to be used in safety issues, given the physical characteristics of the car’s armor. In addition, it considers that it can be used to rent it.

The unit was sold this Saturday, on the first day of the auction of official vehicles, two days that was scheduled, it was reported.

Ricardo Rodríguez Vargas, director of the Service of Administration and Disposal of Assets (SAE), said that it was a historical auction and most of the goods are being sold above the double value of the initial price.
