The number of restaurants may increase as the year progresses.
Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry, Óscar Palacios, announced that in 2019 45 new restaurants are expected in Mazatlán.
He added that this amount is the same as that registered in 2018 and that it has a tendency to exceed as the year progresses. This is because there is a lot of interest from entrepreneurs in Durango, Chihuahua, Nuevo León and Jalisco.
In recent years, the number of restaurants that open in the city has been increasing.
As my colleague Ricardo Velarde says, before we talked about closing business, now we talk about openings, this is a good indicator.
The increase in openings means that there is more influx of people, so it will seek to have a wider range of dining options and seek to enter higher segments to capture a market with greater economic capacity, as there are tourists They seek to have a wider culinary experience.
He noted that currently restaurants are struggling with the staff to serve the guests, so it will seek to open a training center specializing in the subject of service and cuisine.
He added that the restaurants that make up Canirac in Mazatlan are interested in entering the training program “Young people building the future”, so that entrepreneurs train the interested parties in an effective way and that they comply with the new requirements.
In addition there will be a commitment to hire young people who register.
He explained that these investments are a message for local restaurateurs to ” get ready ” and compete with quality and not with prices.
