This weekend, Mazatlán continues to see an influx of charter trucks, but most are arriving with up to 50% fewer passengers. These vehicles are primarily concentrated in the parking lot in front of the Gran Acuario Mazatlán facilities in the Tellerias subdivision.
Passengers disembark from the buses at this location and then board coaches or buses to visit the city’s tourist attractions. Most visitors are from Mexico City, Guanajuato, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Nayarit, and Durango.
Driver Juan Pérez Aguiar mentioned that he arrived in Mazatlán on Friday with a 50% fare, attributing the reduced passenger numbers to the ongoing violence in the state.
