Tacos date back to the Mexican silver mines of the 18th century. To understand how to prepare such a dish correctly, you need to get to know a little about the peculiarities of traditional Mexican cuisine. Its special national flavor can be traced to almost every dish loved by Mexicans. Mexicans use corn flour to make flatbread called “tortillas” which are the basis for most national dishes, including tacos. Traditionally, they are made by hand, which is a rather hard and laborious process that requires certain skills and a lot of time. Naturally, in this particular way Mexicans, for the most part, cook in rural areas, where locals can not imagine their lives without griddle-baked tortillas.

A taco is a soft tortilla topped with meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, and sauces. The fillings can be very diverse. Honor The Tradition Of Tacos And Prepare Them At Home

To prepare tacos authentically, you shouldn’t opt for ready-made tortillas. The most important thing about preparing a taco is preparing a homemade tortilla. You should prepare an elastic dough of corn flour. Then divide it into 4–5 balls, these will be our future tortillas. Each ball should be rolled into a round, medium-thick layer (about 2 mm) If you want to get even tortillas, then trim the edges. Next, fry the tortillas on a dry frying pan on each side for 1.5-2 minutes, until it starts to bubble slightly. Of course, you can also buy the pre-made tortillas in a store and make the process of cooking much simpler.  Next, prepare the meat sauce. 

To do this, put minced meat in a frying pan, lightly fry it, add chopped onions, and fry until half-ready, add salt. Cut tomatoes into small cubes and also add to the half-cooked minced meat, and stew for another 5 minutes. Next, add to the pan thinly diced bell pepper. Then add to these vegetables’ garlic, and seasonings to taste and tomato paste, mix well, stew for another 5 minutes, and turn off. Now put the hot meat sauce on each flatbread and garnish it with radish slices, lime wedges, and fresh onion. To serve tortillas authentically, serve them with sautéed vegetables, salsa, and guacamole.
