Artists capture emblematic sites of the Historic Center of Mazatlán

Members of the Andart group capture landscapes and people carrying out daily activities in their works.

Mazatlán, Sin.- The painting exhibition Mazatlán and its Historic Center was inaugurated in the gallery of the Ángela Peralta theater, in which the members of the Andart group show different emblematic landscapes and people with their daily activities.

The writer Juan José Rodríguez, one of the organizers of the exhibition, highlighted that this exhibition shows how the new generations are creating works based on urban chronicles, capturing emblematic facades and landscapes of the city in their paintings.

“We are seeing how the new generation of painters takes up the mantle of urban chroniclers of the city, both of the Historic Center, its facades and its people.”

There were around 30 artists who worked for several months to create the paintings that exalt the beauty of the Historic Center. The works show emblematic places such as Olas Altas, streets in the “heart” of Mazatlán, sunsets, traditional pneumonia and people.

At the event was the businessman Amado Guzmán, president of the Governing Council of the Historic Center, who said that he felt grateful that he had been considered for this exhibition, since the council has promoted renovations in the Historic Center and art is an important part in this.

In one of the works the businessman is portrayed with the 1873 Observatory building, a characteristic site that stands out on Cerro del Vigía and Paseo del Centenario.

The explosion will be in the Ángela Peralta Theater Gallery until October 13 and admission is completely free, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. On weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
