MAZATLAN. – At least 22 clinics in Sinaloa remain suspended for not complying with sanitary guidelines that allow them to operate, including the Municipal Hospital of Mazatlán, “Margarita Maza de Juárez.”

The State Commissioner for Protection against Sanitary Risks, Randy Ross, reported that these suspensions are partial, and their deficiencies range from lack of a license for surgical procedures to covering corridors.

“The deficiencies vary, the main ones are Norm 016, which is that of hospital infrastructure, an issue that has to do with gray, black, white areas, corridors, wall and floor coverings, ventilation and surgical licenses are the main,” he said.

Although they are already notified and with suspension seals, the commissioner pointed out that they need verification permission from COEPRIS to intervene in the improvements, this as part of a protocol that is needed and that state personnel temporarily remove the seals.

“Some hospitals are already asking us to remove the seals to start making the medical plan, the architectural plan, however, of the 22 that we have suspended, the 22 are still partially suspended, none have fully complied,” he said.

Randy Ross explained that the issue is still ongoing, however, there is still no request from the municipal authority for the provisional removal of the seals and for the remodeling work to begin, but they are waiting for it.

In mid-May, the municipal council approved the modification of the expenditure budget for fiscal year 2023, which consists of adding a resource of 40 million pesos to buy specialty medicines, around 36 million will be for medicines and the rest for the adaptations of the municipal hospital.
