Trump promises to confiscate cartel money, businesses and properties

Trump promises to confiscate cartel money and deliver it to migrant victims

Ten days ago, and before winning the election, Donald Trump made a new campaign promise from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

The businessman assured that he would confiscate the cartels’ assets and that the proceeds would be delivered as compensation to victims of crimes committed by migrants.

“Under my administration, we will confiscate the assets of criminal gangs and drug cartels, and we will use those assets to create a compensation fund to provide restitution to victims of crimes committed by migrants and the government will help in the restoration. The government will help in the restitution,” Trump said.

Trump said that these people have “taken over” large swaths of cities:

“They have gotten into the real estate business, they have taken over apartment complexes, they have taken over several complexes where people pay them rent, they become owners” the President-elect declared.

Finally, he denounced that the members of the cartels possess military-grade weapons, so major military force should be used against them.
