With the arrival of the Carnival Firenze tourist cruise ship this Wednesday, Mazatlán receives national and international visitors for the second day this week, which represents the reactivation of the economic sector, since tourism that travels by cruise ship generates a significant economic spillover.
This was highlighted by the head of the Sinaloa Tourism Secretariat, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, who said that this Wednesday the tourist ship entered the dock at 09:00 hours from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, with 4,591 passengers and 1,397 crew members.
The Sectur official recalled that yesterday, Tuesday, the Carnival Princess cruise ship arrived at the port of Mazatlán with 3,747 passengers and 1,372 crew members, who also had the opportunity to get to know and enjoy the city and the nearby rural communities.
Velarde Cárdenas emphasized that the constant visit of these vessels reaffirms the confidence that shipping companies place in Mazatlán by extending their tours.
He pointed out that from October 2 to 16, 5 tourist cruises have arrived at the port with a total of 23,440 passengers and 7,703 crew members on board.
For the rest of the month, he said that seven more arrivals are scheduled.
He commented that, during their visit and stay at the port, cruise passengers take advantage of the opportunity to stroll through the various tourist attractions of the city, such as the Great Sea of Cortez Aquarium, the Lighthouse, Olas Altas, the Golden Zone, Pino Suárez market, the Cathedral, the boardwalk and other sites of interest for visitors.
The Sectur manager added that the Carnival Firenze will continue its maritime journey to Cabo San Lucas this afternoon, and is scheduled to set sail at 6 p.m.
