After a truce that the telluric movements gave to Sinaloa during the month of September that reported only three events, mainly in the north of the state, this Thursday, October 3, began with shaking waves in Mazatlán.
The National Seismological Service reported around 3:10 hours (Sinaloa time), a 4.4 magnitude tremor 169 kilometers southwest of Mazatlán where the waves literally moved.
The event had a depth of 7.4 kilometers, very close to the surface and occurred in the sea; so far the SSN authorities do not report a tsunami alert; Protection does not indicate damage either.
However, we must be prepared for some aftershocks since this movement is classified in the medium-high range and could have some “echoes” throughout the day. Be prepared!
During the month of October, seismic activity in Sinaloa had a considerable decrease compared to previous months, only three movements occurred, two in Guasave of 4 degrees and one in Los Mochis, belonging to the municipality of Ahome with a magnitude of 3.9.
