Bodies were stolen and the family chapel of a Sinaloa Cartel leader was destroyed.
This act of vandalism and sacrilege occurred just a few days after the capture of Ismael Zambada García.
The chapel of Dámaso López’s family was desecrated last Sunday, July 28, in El Dorado, Culiacán, Sinaloa.
The bodies of Dámaso López García and Adolfo López Núñez were stolen; they are the father and brother of Dámaso López Núñez, alias “El Licenciado”, an alleged drug trafficker arrested in 2016 in Mexico City and extradited to the United States.
“El Licenciado” has collaborated as a protected witness in judicial proceedings against Joaquín Guzmán Loera.
His father, Dámaso López García, died of a heart attack in 2007, while Adolfo López Núñez, the drug trafficker’s brother, was murdered in 2019 outside his home.
This act of vandalism occurred just a few days after the capture of Ismael Zambada García, alias “El Mayo”, at the same time as the alleged surrender of Joaquín Guzmán López, son of “El Chapo Guzmán”.
The events occurred a few days after the arrest in the United States of two key leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel. The family chapel is located in Culiacán.
