In the TAP, in the neighborhoods and even in the rural area, the Cultural Festival started with a variety of activities for everyone’s reach
MAZATLAN.- The Mazatlán Cultural Festival has already started, and from the Ángela Peralta Theater to the rural area, a series of events for the whole family were dispersed, including ensembles and lots, lots of music.
The opening event was “Misa Azteca” by Mexican-American composer Joseph Julián González, conducted by Gordon Campbell. Rosa Ferreiro, Eduardo Tapia and Wendy García also participated, along with the Ángela Peralta Choir in the musical performances. In addition, dancers from the Ballet Folklorico de Cultura carried out performances that referred to their roots by personifying Aztec maidens and priests.
The Mazatlán Cultural Festival spread to the rural area, and to the sound of the Banda La Única and the voice of Óscar Gómez, dozens of people gathered in the El Recodo receivership shed.
The first song performed was “El Muchacho alegre”, which aroused the interest of the spectators. The repertoire included songs such as “Mi gusto es”, followed by “Castigo”, as well as “El Corrido de Mazatlán”, “Leña de pirul”, “Tristes memorias”, “El sauce y la palma”, among others.
Jazz music at López Mateos
In the López Mateos neighborhood, the Festival presented the “Cultura en tu casa” program with a performance by the Jazz Band of the Municipal Arts Center, directed by Omar Ríos.
Seven songs were performed to liven up the Friday night as a preamble to the festival, including “Afirmation”, “Al lof blues”, “Autumn leaves”, “All of me”, “Footprint”, “Just friend” and “Chameleon”.
