The Undersecretary of Promotion, Meetings Industry and Tourist Operation commented that a historic Holy Week is expected for the state.
Mazatlán, Sin.- A 30 percent growth in the arrival of tourism is expected in the state of Sinaloa during this Easter holiday period, which will live its best days from Thursday, April 6 to Sunday, April 9.
The undersecretary of Promotion, Meetings Industry and Tourist Operation, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, stated that Mazatlán is the main tourist destination in the state, therefore a significant increase in visitors is expected for this holiday period.
“The Mazatlan Carnival had an increase of 25-30 percent and this Holy Week this same growth is expected, but good numbers are also expected for all the beaches of Sinaloa,” he said.
According to the reservations of the hotel associations, in Mazatlán a historic Holy Week is expected in the arrival of visitors.
“Easter Week goes down a bit, but it recovers with the different events that are held, such as Motorcycle Week, which also helps a lot.”
He pointed out that this Holy Week and Easter the tourist visits the Magical Towns, many of them also take advantage of these holidays to enjoy the municipalities that have a beach, which there are several in the state.
Velarde Cárdenas added that during the Tianguis Turístico held from March 26 to 29 in Mexico City, 1,480 business appointments were made for Sinaloa, which represented an increase of 116 percent compared to the previous edition.
“Last year there were 630 appointments, this 2023 there were 1,480, where more than 30 tour operators were promoting the different attractions of the entity, from the sea to the mountains,” he concluded.
