MAZATLAN. – For the Easter holidays, the municipality will implement a series of actions that will seek to alleviate the vehicular traffic that is generated in the tourist strip, as well as to provide better service to locals and tourists.

Mayor Édgar Augusto González Zataráin indicated that to avoid bottlenecks during the next holiday period, some routes will be enabled, including a road called ‘La Bahía Marina’ that connects Sábalo Cerritos avenue to Delfín avenue.

This route will be enabled with dirt, four lanes and lighting so that cars can circulate at night.

“This road would come out at the point of the Convention Center and you would go to the Cerritos area or you would go out there so that they do not come through the bottleneck that is made in the Bridges of La Marina. That is being worked on now to equip it with wide dirt roads”.

Once Easter is over, paving work will begin, but on the La Marina side. The municipality will work on the first stage of paving, but will look for the State Government to join efforts with the second stage.

Parking in the CUM

The municipal president stressed that later they will announce the details of this project that is at the door.

In the same way, the parking lot of the Multiple Use Center (CUM) will be enabled so that charter buses can park in the area and thus avoid blocking important avenues in the first square of the city.

“It is a large parking lot to be able to concentrate most of the buses out of circulation during Easter, those buses that come from abroad and tourists are going to concentrate them where they do not give us problems.”
