Around 460 thousand people came to witness the first parade on Sunday

Mazatlán, Sin.- Around 460,000 people came on Sunday to witness the first Carnival parade on Del Mar avenue, a figure that the mayor of Mazatlán, Edgar González Zatarain, considered unique.

In a partial balance of the maximum party in the port city, the mayor pointed out that the citizens have had a good behavior in general, therefore there is no high incidence of accidents and other types of emergencies.

Likewise, he recognized the work of the workers who are in charge of leaving the coastal area clean once the events are over.

González Zatarain summed up that there have been four very good days of Carnival with an extraordinary influx of visitors that has not been seen for several years. On Saturday at the Teodoro Mariscal stadium, where Queen Alejandra I was crowned and the MS band performed, there was an attendance of 21 thousand people.

For its part, the Ministry of Public Safety and Municipal Transit reported that the result of the operation on Sunday was positive.

In the care and protection modules for missing minors, they supported the return of four minors to their families.

For disturbing public order and insulting the authority, five people were arrested, while in Olas Altas and Plazuela Machado, 25 people were detained for other minor offenses.

Likewise, the Civil Protection coordination and the emergency forces intervened on 25 occasions in different situations where people suffered non-serious injuries.

Regarding the road events during the weekend, the statistics show 13 accidents with seven injuries and damages for 486 thousand pesos.
