Take a tour of this Picasso exhibition

The paintings were made by boys and girls belonging to the Casa de Cultura ‘Zapatista’ collective.

MAZATLAN. – What a talent! Members of the ‘Zapatista’ House of Culture Collective inaugurated the exhibition “Pablo Picasso”, a work made exclusively for children and adolescents.

There were 30 paintings that boys and girls presented in honor of some of the main works made by the Spanish artist.

Among the works that stood out, the following could be observed: Caballo Guernica, Dos Mujeres, Guernica, Cubism but with a version of Mazatlán, La mujer que llora, El viejo guitarrista ciego y Las señoritas de Avignon.

The paintings were made through different techniques, sizes, and tones, all under a methodological and artistic learning method.

The teacher Leyna Sarabia expressed that children are a red light because it is a vulnerable sector of society, so instilling values mixed with art helps them develop as valuable members of society.

This is intended to promote through art a culture of respect for cultural diversity and spread the practice of painting to achieve a change in the collective imagination of children, as well as safeguard the classical knowledge of pictorial art as one of the beautiful arts, that is transmitted from generation to generation.

Casa de Cultura “Zapatistas” focuses its actions on benefiting the community, especially the children’s sector, as well as disseminating cultural diversity through learning about the different cultural castings and putting into practice the use of the brush, colors and thought of each one to beautifully capture a canvas.

The “Pablo Picasso” exhibition will be open to the public from January 26 to March 3 of this year, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission is free.

All the pieces are for sale, in order to encourage the work of the little ones; the price ranges from 500 to 4,000 pesos, depending on the technique and size that was used in its realization.
