Mazatlán is the first place in job creation in 2022

There were 6,530 new jobs in the port, 1,075 in Culiacán and 1,561 in Ahome

Mazatlán, Culiacán and Ahome are the municipalities with the highest employment generation registered in 2022 in the state of Sinaloa, with 6,530, 2,075 and 1,561 jobs, respectively.

It is followed by another eight municipalities that also managed to generate employment during the same period, Salvador Alvarado, with 681; Rosario, with 404; Guasave, 311; Angostura, 138; Concord, 96; Escuinapa, 95; Mocorito, 93 and Cosalá, with 61.

Among the municipalities that registered losses are Badiraguato, with 13; Choix with 38; San Ignacio with 66; Sinaloa de Leyva with 80; Navolato lost 116 jobs; Elota 396 and El Fuerte 961 jobs.

According to the analysis prepared by the Council for the Economic Development of Sinaloa, with figures from the IMSS, Mazatlán was the municipality with the highest creation of jobs during 2022, with 6,530 jobs, derived from the dynamism of the industrial sector, particularly the construction where 4 thousand 416 new jobs were generated.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that two of the municipalities with the smallest population had a significant increase in the number of workers. Cosalá had a percentage increase of 13.8%, while Concordia increased by 13.1%.

In contrast, the municipalities with the highest percentage of sources of work are El Fuerte and San Ignacio.

In Sinaloa, during 2022, the average number of workers registered with the Mexican Social Security Institute was 587,186, most of which are concentrated in four municipalities. 44.7% in Culiacán, 20.5% in Mazatlán, Ahome has 16.6% and Guasave 7.2%.

Economic sector by regions

The northern region, Ahome, El Fuerte and Choix, registered an average of 103,461 workers; 11,662 in the primary sector; 34,209 in the industry; 24,956 in commerce and 32,634 in the services sector; that is, the industrial sector would be the one with the highest concentration.

The north-central region, made up of Guasave, Sinaloa, Angostura, Mocorito and Salvador Alvarado, registers 62,875 workers. The primary sector contributes 15,458, 24.6%; industry 14,132, 22.5%; commerce 14,330 2, 8% and the service sector 18,955 30, 1%.

Badiraguato, Culiacán, Navolato, Elota and Cosalá, the central region registered an average of 289,685 workers.

The primary sector had 43,438, with 15.0%; the industry registered 58,507 and 20.2%; trade reached 80,733 and 27.9% and the service sector obtained 107,007 and 36.9%.

Finally, the southern region, made up of San Ignacio, Mazatlán, Concordia, Rosario and Escuinapa, registered 131,166 workers.

The primary sector had 8 thousand 333 and 6.4%; the industry registered 41 thousand 611 and 31.7%; trade reached 26 thousand 246 and 20.0%; while the services sector reached 54 thousand 976 and 41.9%.

In Sinaloa, the service sector remains the largest employer with 61.3% of formal workers, while the industrial sector has established itself as the second largest employer in the state with 25.3%. In third position was the primary sector with 13.4%.
