Mazatlán, Sin.- The Free Ocular Prosthesis Campaign 2023 exceeded expectations by registering a high demand at the start of the activity that is being promoted by the DIF Mazatlán System, the Municipal Government and maxillofacial doctors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
During the first day of the campaign, Alejandro Benavides and René Jiménez, campaign coordinators from UNAM, as well as the coordinator of DIF Mazatlán Medical Services, Abel Zataráin Lizárraga, assessed each of the patients, and began the elaboration of suitable ocular prostheses that are very similar to the natural eye of the beneficiaries.
María Teresa Apodaca Muñoz, president of the DIF Mazatlán System, attended the facilities of the Universidad del Pacífico, who thanked the doctors for their work in days as emotional and generous as this one.
The evaluations and the elaboration of ocular prostheses will continue during this Thursday, January 19.
The delivery of the prostheses will take place in a protocol ceremony, at 5:00 pm this Friday, January 20, at the facilities of the Universidad del Pacífico.
