MAZATLAN. – The president of the “3 Islas” Hotel Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, mentioned that they will seek for the authorities of the Federal Tourism Secretariat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to join efforts in favor of Mazatlán.
This, after the events that occurred during “Black Thursday” which, although they did not affect Mazatlán, work must be done to show the positive things of the destination and thus continue to strengthen and position it.
“We are going to request for support from the Federal Tourism Secretariat and the Foreign Relations Secretariat, who assumed responsibility for what the Tourism Promotion Council did before, to generate actions and that we turn this into an opportunity to capitalize on our destination that year after year it has been strengthened as a safe destination”, he declared.
Manguart Sánchez pointed out that as a tourism sector they trust that they will come out stronger and that Mazatlán will continue with good results it is having, both in number of visitors and in investment.
“Mazatlán has five consecutive years recovering with the arrival of cruise ships, with growth in hotel occupancies and real estate investments generating permanent jobs and historical economic levels that have made Mazatlán one of the 5 favorite destinations nationwide,” he said.
The hotelier added that this positioning of “La Perla del Pacífico” is due to the collaborative work between the authorities and the private initiative, with coordinated strategies to move forward not only the destination but the entire state in positive things.
He added that, on Thursday, the authorities took opportune measures for prevention in favor of the port and the well-being of both citizens and tourists, a situation that allowed the activity to resume normally and without regrettable events.
There is no affectation in reservations
Given the events of “Black Thursday”, the hotelier commented that there were no cancellations in the room reservations, they were only rescheduled.
