Elements of the Aquatic Police called on the boat crew to divert their trajectory to avoid hitting the mammal

Mazatlán, Sin.- In order to prevent the vessels that sail offshore off Olas Altas from hitting a whale that was grounded, entangled in a fishing net, elements of the Aquatic Police of the Ministry of Public Security and Municipal Transit implemented a special operation near the mammal during the afternoon of Monday.

The sighting was reported at approximately 1:00 p.m. and the report detailed that the cetacean had difficulties moving through the nets it had on its body.

The first approach of the lifesaving elements was to assess the situation and seeing the impossibility of removing the fishing net from the whale, they proceeded to divert the ships in order to prevent the propellers from getting entangled or hitting the huge mammal.

Within the actions, notice was given to the personnel in charge of dealing with situations with these marine animals and they will be the ones who carry out the corresponding procedures so that the whale continues its trajectory.
