Hotel rates skyrocket in Mazatlán

Mazatlán, Sin.- Mazatlán will have a good end of the year in terms of tourism for the last days of 2022, however, hotel rates have skyrocketed considerably at the end of the year.

Currently, there are few lodging establishments that have rooms available, but at a very high price, especially in the Historic Center and the tourist area.

An increase of around 30 percent was found in the price for a room per night for the last days of the year.

For example, a room for one night and two people at the Gamma Centro Histórico hotel costs 2,524 pesos; at the Olas Altas Inn it is 2,593 pesos; At Casa Lucila it costs 6,160 pesos and at Doubletree By Hilton the hotel room costs 5,400 pesos, with taxes included.

Currently, hotel occupancy registers reservation levels of 90 percent, however, it will be until after Christmas when it reaches its maximum levels until January 2.

With regard to the lodging centers in the tourist area, in the Emporio the room per night for two people is 4,57O pesos; in the Mission 2,344 pesos; in the Park Royal Beach 2,536 pesos; at the Pacific Palace it costs 5,998 pesos; in Don Pelayo at four 4,490 pesos; at the Inn at Mazatlan it costs 4,764 pesos and at Las Flores hotel one-night costs 4,402 pesos.

The president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Miguel Hernández Fonseca, stated that Mazatlán expects 100 percent occupancy of the more than 23 rooms of the traditional hotel and vacation rental.

“According to Booking, Expedia and the agencies, reservations are almost 100 percent for the following days, mainly from people from Tijuana, Monterrey, Chihuahua, Zacatecas, Saltillo, Hermosillo, Tepic, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Morelia and Mexico City and the rest of the municipalities of Sinaloa.”
