Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Sinaloa is key to promoting its regional relationship with Durango, Coahuila and the United States, due to its potential and competitive advantages such as its port system and the Mazatlán-Durango highway that strengthen economic and logistical feasibility, assured Javier Gaxiola Coppel.

The State Secretary of Economy said that the binational meeting that took place this Tuesday between authorities from the United States and Mexican entities, seeks to work more hand in hand with the neighboring country to strengthen the economy, trade and development of the region.

“We are a complementary region in terms of logistics, due to the port potential that we have in Sinaloa for all of Durango and Coahuila, but also for all the merchandise that goes to and from the entire East coast of the United States, where more than 70 percent is of the Gross Domestic Product of the United States.

The state official explained that the Mazatlán-Durango highway can generate port growth in Sinaloa, since container handling would be done by road, but in addition, the Mexican Pacific state also has the potential to join Durango through the railway. .

“We also have the potential of the 300 kilometers that remain to join Sinaloa with Durango in terms of railways, of which a large part already has the right of way, (…) a Sinaloan port for the use of the states we are talking about and also from United States”.

Gaxiola Coppel assured that Sinaloa, Durango and Coahuila have the human resource capacity, a young population to be able to develop investment opportunities in high-tech manufacturing, which would generate employment and well-being opportunities for families.

He stressed that this bilateral relationship between the United States and the three states of the region must continue since the main benefit for Mexican entities is the generation of jobs, while for the American Union it is an opportunity to have an important port and a chain nearby. of supply near its border, which will strengthen its development.
