Mazatlan Sinaloa. The Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection ruled out that a catamaran-type vessel had run the risk of sinking off the three islands in the bay and put the crew at risk.

The coordinator Eloy Ruiz Gastelum clarified that the boat that is located near the three Islands on the coast of Mazatlán presented a mechanical failure and not an emergency due to sinking as it was handled on Monday night in some social networks.

He explained that elements of the Mexican Navy attached to the Eighth Naval Region, from the Search and Rescue area, approached the vessel “Sensation”, whose crew reported that it was a pump failure and chose to go to the crew. to another rented boat and take them to the pier.

He also ruled out that the crew had taken any risk.

Given the events that happened to this vessel, he indicated that the Port Authority will be in charge of monitoring the situation, in addition to verifying navigation permits and mainly conditions of the vessel, for this accident to have occurred on the high seas, because it is not very common.
