Mazatlan host the High-speed motorcycle race CAIN (Carrera Infernal) Road RACE with over 140 pilots

With the assistance of some 15 thousand people, it runs from Palmito to the municipal seat of Concordia; This is the VII Edition of the CAIN Road Race international motorcycling race

Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – With an economic benefit estimated at 12 million pesos, this Sunday the VII edition of the high-speed motorcycle race CAIN (Carrera Infernal) Road RACE will be held, in the municipality of Concordia.

More than 140 experienced pilots from 10 countries and 20 states of the country will participate this year in this 74-kilometre route , which goes from Palmito to the municipal seat of Concordia, where they overcome 538 curves, and for the second time in its history, a woman, from Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The director of the CAIN race, Jorge Quiñonez Soto, informed that they calculate to have around 15 thousand spectators along this trajectory and an economic benefit of the order of 12 million pesos, and they already have the hotels completely full.

“There are 74 kilometers from El Palmito, which is 1,970 meters above sea level and we go down to Concordia, which is practically 40, 50 meters from sea level, there are 74 kilometers, 538 curves on this route, with very tight curves , most are closed, it is a very technical race for motorcyclists and whoever runs it, we ask them to have the experience, the ability, but, above all, to have expertise”, he stated.

At a press conference, the Secretary of Tourism, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, stressed that this high-speed race is a great achievement and that it is undoubtedly a competition that will grow every day, because the number of sympathizers for this type of sports.

While the mayor of Concordia, Raúl Díaz Bernal, highlighted the support they have received from the Sectur authorities to carry out this race, which is international in nature.

Likewise, he said that they are promoting the municipality at every opportunity they have, because Concordia is a different and complementary alternative to beach tourism, since they have history, towns with colonial charm and other things that there are to make known.

This year the participation of more than 140 riders is expected, including 50 from various states of the country, as well as the assistance of motorcyclists from Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic.

And among the foreign riders are the British Gary Johnson and Matthew Ress, who have competed in the famous motorcycle race on the Isle of Man; The Colombian Rigo Salazar, two-time CAIN champion, the Argentines David Paredes, winner in 2018, and Miguel Garay and others will also run.

The current champion of the 1000 expert category is Arturo Anguiano Urquiza, a member of Roads Pilots from Guadalajara.

Quiñonez Soto explained that from 10:30 a.m. highway traffic will be closed and the first motorcyclist will leave El Palmito at 12 noon, and every 30 seconds the rest of the competitors will continue.
