New Mazatlan Mayor replaces transit police chief

Juan Sergio Camacho Torres is appointed deputy director of Municipal Traffic,

Mazatlán, Sin.- Although last week Mayor Edgar González Zataráin had indicated that Jorge Samuel Alvarado Ilustre would remain as deputy director of Municipal Transit, this Tuesday it was announced that the head of the agency, Jaime Othoniel Barrón Valdez, gave in the place to Juan Sergio Camacho Torres.

The first assignment that the successor received is to propose improvements in the mobility strategy on the avenues, in addition to the situation of the traffic lights in the city, with the intention of forming a work strategy that suits society.

For his part, Camacho Torres explained that among the operational actions to be carried out is the reinforcement of zero tolerance towards motorcycle drivers with the firm intention of avoiding road accidents, as well as extending the Breathalyzer operation that has the same purpose.

Jorge Samuel Alvarado Illustrious was appointed deputy director of Municipal Traffic on July 22, 2021.

From 2018 to date, this subdirectorate has had five holders: Luis Enciso Guzmán, who left the position in February 2019 to be occupied by Francisco Guerra.

Later, the commander retired and Jesús Antonio Estrada Díaz took his place on November 3, 2020, eight months later Alvarado Ilustre.
