The president of AMPI revealed that 30 percent of foreigners buy a house or apartment.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Real estate investments in Mazatlán belong to foreigners by 25 or 30 percent, where sales for vacation rentals stand out, said Roberto Carlos Arellano Osorio.

The president of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals of Mazatlán stated that from November to March many Americans and Canadians spend an important time in Mazatlán, in which the real estate market moves a lot.

He explained that on the subject of investment, Mazatlan is between 8th and 10th place at the national level. There is an estimated figure of 3,500 to 5,000 in inventories.

During the winter season, about 6,000 Canadians and Americans arrive at the destination despite a season.

Infrastructure

He pointed out that Mazatlan needs to improve its infrastructure in order to attract more real estate investment.

Arellano Osorio commented that it is necessary to improve the roads, as well as the water and drainage services in the destination in order to cover the demand that is generated, for this reason there will be a rapprochement with both the state government and the federal government.

He stressed that Mazatlan is working in competition with destinations such as Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta.

“ Mazatlán is being an important point, nothing more than we are working in competition with Cabo, with Vallarta, with Cancún, because Mazatlán really needs to make a leap in terms of infrastructure,” he concluded.
