Temperatures drop slightly in Mazatlan, as the fifth cold front enters.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.-  As the fifth cold front enters the national territory, Civil Protection is preparing to attend to people on the streets this winter season.

Eloy Ruiz Gastélum, coordinator of municipal Civil Protection, stated that for a couple of days the temperature began to drop slightly.

He commented that around 50 cold fronts are forecast for this season and as the end of autumn and the beginning of winter approach, the temperatures will be a little more pleasant.

“We will have spaces arranged for the protection of these people or those who are on the street, so that if there is a considerable drop in temperatures they have a space to take refuge, take shelter and have a little shelter,” he said.

Ruiz Gastélum revealed that to detect these people there will be a night tour operation in coordination with the preventive police to locate all those people who are homeless and who may be at risk to their health due to temperatures.

He indicated that there may be 50 to 75 people with this problem, and given the drop in temperatures in the mountainous area of the municipality, that is why a visit will be made to these communities to provide the most vulnerable people with covers and blankets.

recommendations

The Civil Protection coordinator in Mazatlan called on citizens to take care of temperature changes, wear warm clothes, especially babies and older adults, who are the most vulnerable.

“Let’s remember that the cold also dehydrates, we must stay hydrated, eat seasonal fruit, and at the first symptoms of a cold go to the doctor for a corresponding check-up,” he concluded.
