Culiacan, Sinaloa. – The Secretary of Health of the State GovernmentCuitláhuac González Galindo, reported that there are currently six suspected cases of monkeypox in Sinaloa and that they are being studied to determine whether it is that disease or not.

The state official stressed that this report of the new suspects was received this Friday, so they hope that this same weekend they will receive the results of the laboratory analyzes that are being carried out on the samples taken from the six people who live in the south of the state.

“Six suspects that we have, from this week that are suspected, these were passed to me today; During the weekend they should be informing us if they come out positive or negative, ”he said.

González Galindo commented that, as part of the protocol, patients with symptoms related to monkeypox are kept in isolation, under constant monitoring and fortunately without health complications.

The Secretary of Health in Sinaloa highlighted that, from July of this year to date, there are 13 people who have tested positive for the disease, who fortunately have recovered without complications.

The state official added that, people who have any symptoms that may be related to the disease or who have been in contact with a person with the disease, it is important that they go to their nearest Sanitary Jurisdiction so that a doctor checks them, assesses them and in If it is necessary to take samples so that through a laboratory analysis the condition can be confirmed or ruled out.
