The resource for the construction of the El Quelite bridge was approximately 200 million pesos, divided among the 5 participating companies.

MAZATLAN.- The construction of the Quelite bridge is already halfway done, with a progress of just over 50 percent, estimating the completion of the work for December.

Quel Galván Pelayo, general director of Quel Obras y Edificaciones, one of the construction companies that won the tender, mentioned that in the section that corresponds to them, the advances are significant, and although it is the rainy season, these have not been harmful for the jobs continue.

“We are doing well, they gave us six months and that is the challenge… working at full speed. So far the rains have not harmed us, they make us noisy. We hope that by the end of the year the bridge will be complete”, he declared.

It was in June of this year that work began to rebuild the two-body bridge, that is, parallel, one of 240 meters and the other of 120 meters, which will support 4,200 cubic meters per second of water tributary.

For his part, Roberto Carlos Arellano Osorio, general director of Coseco, pointed out that the progress is already in the structure and in the foundation, but there are still details to finish, which they estimate will be finished in these months to deliver the work in December.

“The placement of beams is missing, what follows is the placement of slabs so that next year we have a safe connection through the Mazatlán-Culiacán free highway. We believe that the roads would be in January to be able to circulate, ”he said.

Arellano Osorio added that so far there have been no problems to develop the work in a timely manner, therefore, just as its delivery was agreed with the State Government, so it will be.

Let us remember that the El Quelite bridge collapsed with the current of the river due to the ravages of the storm “Nora” in 2021, since then, those who circulate through those areas must take the highway, enter through the Mármol deviation and circulate down the road to the free.
